Oh my god!!!! I was in Las Vegas in October and I saw one of these things rollin’ down the strip. I thought it was pretty cool idea for advertising the strip club, very unique.
Nationwide Tour To Start In 2010
LAS VEGAS — The never-ending saga of the Las Vegas “Stripper-Mobile” will begin a new chapter in 2010 when the portable pole dancers embark on a coast-to-coast tour.
Deja Vu Showgirls, in a risky and risqué marketing campaign, has been hauling bikini-clad exotic dancers around in a truck with clear plastic sides, offering views of strippers dancing around a pole. The truck rolled along the Las Vegas Strip from 10 p.m. until 2 a.m. trying to lure customers to the club. But public outrage over the truck grew as pictures and videos of the truck surfaced on the Internet and a county commissioner in Las Vegas vowed to shut it down. “It’s clearly a distraction,” Sisolak told the AP. “Somebody’s going to turn their head to look at some girl flipping upside-down and spinning on a pole, and take their eyes off the road and could swerve and pop up the sidewalk and plow into a bunch of tourists that are walking along.”
Déjà Vu plans to make stops in more than one dozen states where it owns clubs, including Florida, New York and California. Marketing Director Larry Beard was disappointed when the mobile advertisement was put into park last month. County commissioners questioned whether it was legal and safe to have dancers spinning on poles in the bed of the truck, which was encased in Plexiglas. Beard decided to stop the advertisement before lawmakers took action. Now, he said, the truck is ready to roll again. (source)
